- Current season: 2014-15 NHL season
The New Hockey League (NHL) is a fictional international hockey league mimicking the real-life National Hockey League, using NHL 15 for the creation of all gameplay and statistic related information, including the teams themselves. Many logos are borrowed from the National Hockey League with new color schemes, while others are taken from the NHL 15 Create A Team menu. The league is not male-only, like most major professional sports. However, only 23 females play in the league, and they all on the Long Beach Islanders roster.
The NHL uses the same two conferences as the National Hockey League, but with recolored logos. The conferences are called Eastern and Western, but do not represent geographical locations. Many Eastern teams are west of Western teams and vice versa. There are 15 teams in each conference.
The NHL uses the same four divisions as the National Hockey League, but with divisional logos. The divisions use directional and geographical names, but do not represent geographical locations. Teams from each division are scattered across the globe. There are 5 teams in each division.
