The National Hockey League (NHL) is a fictionally rebranded version of the real league, mimicking the real-life league, using EA SPORTS NHL 20 for the creation of all gameplay and statistic related information, including the teams themselves. Many logos are borrowed from the National Hockey League with same or new color schemes, while the Seattle Sasquatches logos are taken from the NHL 20 Create A Team menu.
Conferences[]
The NHL uses the same two conferences as the National Hockey League, but slightly realigned. The conferences are called Eastern Conference (often shortened to "Eastern" or "East") and Western Conference (often shortened to "Western" or "West"). There are 16 teams in the East and 15 in the West.
Divisions[]
The NHL uses the same four divisions as the National Hockey League, with divisional logos from the 2018 NHL All-Star Game. There are 7-8 teams in each division.
Teams[]
The biggest change to the team lineup is the merger of the New York Rangers and the Tampa Bay Lightning to form the Tampa Ranger Bolts, who play in the Atlantic Division. The void in the Metropolitan Division is filled by the Nashville Predators, who moved from the Central Division. The Arizona Coyotes fill the spot vacated by Nashville, while the league welcomes the Seattle Sasquatches to the league in the Pacific Division.
